I got 2 emails today from a friend of mine containing a list of New Zealand's butterflies. Also including 2 of her favourite insects. One of these is another Vanessa species too! But the strange thing is when I did a Google search on them it said it was a Red admiral! When the Red admiral's scientific name is V. atlanta! Which got me thinking it must be the New Zealand red admiral because I remember coming across a few sites that had it on there. I'm not sure of the Latin name though.
I'll look into that as well and will get back to you. I'll also update this post tomorrow with the list butterflies my friend sent me. It's late and I've got dinner to eat and then BED! =)
